Germ Shield

"Germ Shield” is an educational role-playing game that teaches players about the importance of hand and respiratory hygiene. In this game, players learn about the basics of preventing respiratory sickness. Mini-games allow simulation of correct handwashing technique, cough etiquette and overall respiratory hygiene. The game also encourages patients to talk with their doctor about getting the flu shot.

Game Objectives

Introduction

Players meet Gem and learn the basics of respiratory illness, including: 1) what getting sick means and common symptoms, 2) what causes illness, including viruses and bacteria, 3) when respiratory illnesses are most common, 4) how to prevent getting sick through hand hygiene, cough and sneeze etiquette, and flu vaccination, and 5) why prevention matters, including fewer school absences, asthma flare-ups, and spreading illness to others.
